When the calendar flipped over to Season 16, Alberta 1 sat 23rd in the world rankings, with most of the team’s points coming at the end of season 15, there was potential for a top 10 season and definitely a shot at Germany later in the year. The season started promising with the Volcano’s 3rd place finish in Tour de Gummerup, but it was all down hill from there. Just two other payouts from Fraga and we are still awaiting Berkhout’s first top 10.
Manager Sean, who was unable to attend this morning’s Junin – Buenos Ares, was reported throwing a remote at the TV after yet another disappointing finish from Meine Berkhout.
“We are out of options” said Sean later today, “We have invested in staff, equipment, lead outs, pretty much anything we can think of… We don’t know what’s going on, but one thing is certain, we’re down to 40th in the rankings and are set to drop further, unless results turn around we will soon be racing in the 2nd division.”
When asked what this means for Alberta 1’s future Sean stated, “We have a new focus for this season, just one goal: Win Netherlandse Tour General Classification. And yes, this does mean we will be time trialling Conrado Fraga! There isn’t enough time left before sign up to prepare Fraga for top form, but the remainder of season 16 will be devoted to preparing our team for the biggest sprinting tour of the year.”

Good luck, I hope I won't be one of your opponents, though results of this season hint I may be :)
